In Honor of Devendra (Dave) Patel

Created by Nimisha Srivastava

Devendra (Dave) Patel

After almost eight years, our father, Devendra Patel, lost his battle with multiple myeloma on February 14, 2018. Better known as ‘Dave’, Dad brought positivity, warmth and laughter into everything he did. He was the heart of our family, and our heart now breaks for this loss.

Dad always counted the last eight years as a blessing, as ‘borrowed time’ where he got to see his daughters get married and meet his two grandchildren. They will never forget their ‘dadaji’ as not only will the pictures, videos and memories live on, but also the values he instilled in us (not to mention the hundreds of jokes we have memorized!).

We are so grateful that so many friends, family and co-workers were able to visit or speak to him in his last few weeks. He loved his job, friends and family so much and always spoke fondly of everyone he knew.

Over the years we have raced, walked and ran for a cure, and thanks to great advances in medicine, Dad was able to live these precious extra eight years. He unfortunately was too weak for a new clinical trial but we hope through this page we can increase awareness of multiple myeloma and help raise money to speed up further developments in the field. Thank you all for your love and support.

The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), along with its research and medical industry partners, has fueled more studies, initiated more trials, developed more treatments, introduced more medicines, and have had a far greater impact than any other organization on myeloma. While the MMRF has made enormous progress, they still have much to do and cannot continue to do great research without your support

About the MMRF:

The MMRF continues to disrupt the industry today, as a pioneer and leader at the helm of new research efforts.  Since its inception, the organization has raised over $330 million and directs nearly 90% of the total funds to research and related programs.
