Jose Patroni, or “Pepe” as he was known to his family and close friends, was born in Lima, Peru on April 12, 1955. He had a passion for soccer, having played and watched his entire life. He enjoyed weekly trips to Costco, playing the lottery, seeing his grandchildren, daily walks with his dogs, and daily phone calls with his family
Jose was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2013, and fought with persistence and determination to live for 6 more years. On Thursday, September 12, 2019, Jose lost his battle with cancer at age 64. He will be remembered for his strength, kindness, thoughtfulness, generosity, and work ethic, and to his family, his stubbornness.
Help us honor Jose while making a difference in myeloma research.
The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), along with its research and medical industry partners, has fueled more studies, initiated more trials, developed more treatments, introduced more medicines, and have had a far greater impact than any other organization on myeloma. While the MMRF has made enormous progress, they still have much to do and cannot continue to do great research without your support.
