Bonnie's Shining Light

Created by Karen Panerali

Bonnie Rae

Help us honor Bonnie, a loving and beautiful wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, while at the same time making a difference in myeloma research. Bonnie lost her valiant four-month battle with this devastating and aggressive cancer on December 17, 2017. She is dearly missed each and every moment by all who had the blessing to know her, especially her husband, children, and grandchildren. Her light was so strong that we know she is here with us in spirit at all times. We only wish we could have won this battle, but we try to find peace knowing that we did everything known to man, but her type of refractory Multiple Myeloma was just too aggressive to keep up with. We won't let it win. We continue to honor her and her incredible strength. We continue to spread her light by trying our best to live like her. She was the heart and soul of our family.

She was taken from us way too soon. We knew nothing about this horrible type of cancer until it hit our family with a vengeance last August. Bonnie was bright, cheerful, happy, and always so giving - she was often nicknamed the "Energizer Bunny"...the fact that this cancer can make itself known so quickly and with such devastating impacts in such a short time makes it even more evil.

Bonnie was diagnosed in August of 2017. She fought her battle the same way she lived her life: with a positive attitude, a loving spirit, and hope for the future. We want to try to help find a cure and help her light and spirit live on by raising awareness and funds for further research. Please read more about this evil disease, a type of blood cancer that affects the plasma cells, by exploring the link above titled "About Multiple Myeloma."Please consider making a donation if you can. Even the smallest of donations can help and can be made by clicking on "Other" to make a smaller amount. Thank you for helping us honor Bonnie by either making a donation in any amount that is possible or by learning more about this type of cancer.

The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), along with its research and medical industry partners, has fueled more studies, initiated more trials, developed more treatments, introduced more medicines, and have had a far greater impact than any other organization on myeloma. While the MMRF has made enormous progress, they still have much to do and cannot continue to do great research without your support.

Please consider joining us to fight multiple myeloma. Together we can make a difference.

About the MMRF:
The mission of the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) is to find a cure for multiple myeloma by relentlessly pursuing innovation that accelerates the development of next-generation treatments to extend the lives of patients. Founded in 1998 by Kathy Giusti, a multiple myeloma patient, and her twin sister Karen Andrews as a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization, the MMRF is a world-recognized leader in cancer research. The MMRF continues to disrupt the industry today, as a pioneer and leader at the helm of new research efforts.  Since its inception, the organization has raised over $330 million and directs nearly 90% of the total funds to research and related programs.
